The examination as a recertification option can be taken only in the fourth year of the certificant’s recertification cycle to allow time in the fifth year for remediation if deficient areas are identified by the exam. Certificants choosing the examination option must send a completed exam application to the CBMT office with the exam fee and any outstanding fees due on their account. The exam application is located in the Candidate Handbook. After the application is processed a letter will be mailed to the applicant with the instructions to schedule their exam appointment. Examinations are administered by appointment Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with the exception of some holidays, at testing centers located throughout the USA and abroad. Please see pages 4 and 5 of the Exam Candidate Handbook for more information.
